Preliminary examination

If you,

• Are at least 18 years old and your glasses or lenses have not changed more than one degree over the last year,
• Have up to -10 Myopia
• Have up to -7Astigmatism
• Have up to +7 Hypermetropia
• And your eyes are found to be suitable for treatment in the consultation,

...you can have laser surgery.

Suitability for surgery can only be determined through a detailed examination and analysis at the Dunyagoz Group. Furthermore we offer information about treatments of several eye related problems in our hospital in Istanbul. Imagine that cataract was diagnosed and you are on a waiting list that is longer than 6 months, then you can negotiate with your health insurance company and make use of our VIP-arrangement en receive a professional treatment in Istanbul.

The Treatment

According to the information based on the preliminary examination, our eye doctors will give an advise for a possible treatment. After you have been approved for our laser treatment you will be able to make a choice in several packages that the Dunyagoz Group has to offer.

In accordance a departure date will then be chosen.

After arrival in Istanbul you will receive a last preliminary examination. According to this preliminary examination a final decision will be made about the laser treatment to be used. Only surgeons from the Dunyagoz Group are allowed to determine if your eyes can be treated with a laser treatment. Therefor final information about your treatment cannot be given before the last preliminary examination.

The treatment will take place the second day. The treatment itself only takes about 10 minutes for both eyes. The surgeon will explain and support you throughout this procedure. In this way you will not get surprised and it makes it all more comfortable for you. Immediately after treatment your eyesight will be better than ever! On the third day you have your first mandatory appointment after the treatment. This appointment takes place within 24 hours of your treatment in our hospital. Your vision might still be a bit blurry; we call this 'under water' or 'vaseline' vision. The first 24 hours after your treatment this will become better and better. The next day, even though your vision will not be perfect yet, you can normally function and do all the things you normally do. We will offer you a city trip with a guide where you (without glasses or contact lenses!) can enjoy sight-seeing Istanbul.

Aftercare

The first day after your treatment a checkup will take place. After that in the following year a few checkups will take place. The day after your treatment you will go to a checkup. With a LASIK treatment the results can very well be concluded. With PKR and LASEK treatments that takes a bit longer. The second checkup takes place after one week.

After that, checkups will take place after four weeks, three months and six months and a yearly opthalmologic or optometric examination.
