What is Cataract?

Cataract is the loss of transparency of the lens that ensures the focusing of the rays entering the eye. The deformed lenses become like opaque glass and you start to have visual complaints. Your vision becomes blurry and undefined. Cataracts decrease vision and causes headaches and tired eyes.

Cataract is more likely to occur in people who:

• Are over 60 years old
• Have Diabetes
• Have used corticosteroids for prolonged periods
• Have had physical injuries to the eye
• Have inner eye inflammations

CATARACT SURGERY

Phaco is the most developed cataract surgery technique, where tiny tunnels are created to enter the eye cut. During the cataract surgery a special viscoelastic material- Viscoat is used. With Viscoat, the eye is protected from any surgical damage. Viscoat is the purest and best protective viscoelastic material and is not reusable.

The capsule of the lens is torn circularly and the lens material is removed using a special ultrasound machine called a Phacoemulsification.

When the lens material is totally cleaned, an artificial, foldable lens is implanted in the capsular bag.

There is no need for stitches, due to the fact that only tiny tunnels are used to enter the eye

PHACO LASER

A knife-free era in the treatment of cataract

Shortly after knife-free laser operations were introduced in the world of medicine, another innovation has been launched: knife-free cataract surgeries. These state-of-the-art cataract surgeries are being performed for the first time in Turkey simultaneously with Europe at Dünyagöz with the laser technology called Femto Phaco.
