What is Glaucoma?

Glaucoma Glaucoma is a group of diseases that can damage the eye's optic nerve and result in vision loss and blindness. Glaucoma occurs when the normal fluid pressure inside the eyes slowly rises. However, with early treatment, you can often protect your eyes against serious vision loss.

Symptoms of Glaucoma

No symptoms are visible when you have glaucoma. In an advanced stage it will form a threat for our eye-sight. With regular and detailed eye examinations glaucoma can be discovered at the early stages. With NFA (Nerve Fiber Analyzer) we are able to determine the damage to the optical nerve fibers. In general cataract is age related, but cataract can be seen even with babies and children. Some illnesses and the use of certain medication can cause early cataract.
